class locomotive - for those of you building a 'Grange' class, the details would be

pretty well identical apart the larger boiler and deeper, longer footplate and

valance (hanging plate)

Showing the use of aluminium hair clips to hold the valance overlay in it's correct position for soldering. I find that you don't have to tin the inner surfaces first, just allow the solder to be drawn into the joint by capillary action - you get a tighter,

flatter joint that way.
