Welcome to
Malcolm Mitchell's
'A' Shop

Hello and welcome to my web site that celebrates those beautifully engineered locomotives of the G.W.R. in miniature form.
All the photographs on this site are of models built from my own etched components and kits, unless credited otherwise. Some scratchbuilding is also involved in a few of the locomotives illustrated, and over the coming months i hope to bring you more stage by stage construction shots and tips that will illustrate the methods and techniques that i use in producing the models that you see here.
New! locomotive livery guide has now started
in the 'Prototype information' pages.

G.W.R. Tender toolboxes
Churchward 3500 gallon & Collett 4000 gallon types.

Churchward 3500 gallon type (MM8)

Collett 4000 gallon type (MM9)
These etched tender toolbox kits have been designed and produced as a finescale alternative to the usual unsatisfactory and misshapen white metal castings found in most 7mm scale GWR loco and tender kits. They have been produced using the original Great Western drawings for the ultimate in accuracy.
The top of the tender is a very noticeable area when viewing a model and these simple but precise toolbox kits will add that essential finishing touch.
Assembly is simplicity itself: Can be soldered or glued together. those with masochistic tendencies can even make them openable to show off your tool set!
£6.50 per pair + £0.75 P+P. (UK Only)
Overseas customers please email for postage quote stating quantity required.
Please state 'MM8' for 3500gal. or 'MM9' for 4000 gal, as required in the comments section of the order page.
